Boutique Shopping in WeHo

Last Saturday, the City of West Hollywood hosted it's 3rd Annual Structure & Style, a special tour of some of WeHo's trendsetting fashion boutiques including Alberta Ferretti, Church and Roseark.

Our first stop was Alberta Ferretti on Melrose Ave. The lightness and transparency of the store really complemented it's collection.  The mannequins and display mounts on the mirrored walls are all magnetic and come off easily, which allow the design of the store to change at a moments notice (pretty cool!).  I just couldn't get enough of a 70s style shaggy light green coat on display. Definitely my favorite in the store.

The next stop was Church on Santa Monica Blvd. and Poinsettia, the very eastside of WeHo.  So, why the name Church for an edgy boutique that doesn't exactly look wholesome or religious?  The shop owner explained that he saw his store as a place of community for up and coming mostly local designers.  They not only have a variety of unique pieces, but they even sell the art on the wall.  A vast difference from the boutique we had just seen with it's stripped floors and raw environment.  This avant-garde boutique has the right amount of edge and couture, plus it's walking distance from my house (always a positive in LA).

My last stop of the day was Roseark, on Crescent Heights and Santa Monica Blvd. The boutique is by appointment only, so it was a great opportunity to check it out. Their main focus is jewelry, but it also has a gallery in the back and a few gorgeous couture dresses on display around the store. The store is a renovated house with a quaint homey appeal, which makes you feel miles away from LA. As I was about to leave the store, I caught a glimpse of some super chic red lip necklaces and rings on display. Um, loved them!
